Nina Rompa | Gijs Idema | Mo van der Does

With colourful, dreamy chamber music in an unusual formation, Nina Rompa (voice), Gijs Idema (guitar) and Mo van der Does (clarinet), portray compositions rooted in Jazz, with influences from modern and classical music.

Gijs Idema and Nina Rompa played in duo for many years and started composing and arranging together.  For their first album they started searching further. They searched for a color and a story to tell, with a beginning and an end. It provided pieces that are sometimes transparently, sometimes ambiguously connected to each other. In their search they also found an addition, and with Mo van der Does on the clarinet their sound was complete.

Kobra

Seven singers, each with a different musical background, come together through their love of polyphonic music. They prefer not to color within the lines. They are classically trained, but together they are curiously exploring all kinds of musical directions and in doing so they do not shy away from the theatrical. They prefer to sing on the widest possible range of stages, events and festivals, constantly looking for new audiences to surprise. They recently released their first EP; A colorful collection of music that is dear to them, full of idiosyncrasies and peculiarities: KOBRA.
